Our First Gun

This week, we are showcasing our first gun concept! But before that, let’s share a quick update on our development progress.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve discussed bringing on an experienced level designer to help build out the complex areas we’ve envisioned since this project started. Up to this point, we’ve been very fortunate that our Art Director, Oksana, has taken it upon herself to learn the level building process within Unity, and she has been giving it her all to design our prototype level. However, we’re rapidly reaching a phase of development in which we need someone with experience in level design to really think about the layout, and create areas for complex and engaging player vs. player game play. So, last week we put up posts on various forums and sites in search of an official level designer to join our ranks. Postings are still up, so if you, or someone you know might be interested, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!

On to the gun (art) update. As we start getting back into the Unity scene and working the client, our development team has been asking the art team for specific assets. One need that came up is assets for some early guns. The team came up with some early concepts that you can check out below, but we felt that the weapon that made the most sense to make first, was the one you can see at the top of our website.

Without further ado, here's a look at the concept for our first gun! It's off to our 3D artist, Eric, and should be fully modeled and textured soon!
