Can we get some light in here?

This week has seen some good progress on our backend, as well as some good realignment on project flow and work streams. In addition to that, there's been some good old fashioned design work completed as well. Unfortunately, none of this produces anything we can show. For us, it has been great progress, but for our early followers (you guys!), it’s another week with not much to look at.

That said, this week we spent some time revisiting conversations about lighting and its role in gameplay. Specifically, discussions about players being able to create and destroy light sources. In other words, will players be able to interact with or shoot light emitting props to make them go out? And if yes, how much will that impact the ambient light? Could a player use it to their advantage? Answering all of these questions is an important parts of our design process. Though we haven't yet decided how much interaction the player will have with lighting, we do have some cool torch models for you to check out!

Along these same lines, we’re also discussing what a potential stealth mechanic might look like. There are some interesting approaches to stealth in a side-scrolling action brawler game. We're excited to explore this mechanic and see what we can create.
